Somewhat of a noob looking for any recommendations before i eat dirt

Hey guys, i just recently bought my 00 tl in august and i cant wait to hook it up, from my last car i have an alpine v12 900 w mono amp and two alpine type e 12's. They hit pretty well in my car but i blew them like 3 different times...thankfully i had a warranty. What my question today is that im looking at finally putting this stuff in and getting an aftermarket deck to bring it all together. Im leaning toward buying an in dash dvd, i know a guy who can get me a awesome deal on the Dual XDVD8180, its a 7" touch screen, obviously it is not the best on the market but the price is great for my pocket and i heard its not too bad. Would this be a good thing to install in my tl, because i would really love a dvd look? Also i obviously cant install all this myself and hopefully can find someone affordable in the denver area to do it for me....but is there anything that i should really be aware of.....so that hopefully half way into it i dont fuck up my baby. Ive read the stuff on the stock subwoofer and it seems like its possible to hook it up, if i even wanted to. Also how do the speakers work with a new headunit? And can anyone recommend a good place to get a double din to cover up the old HU setup? Thanks a bunch in advance i know i have a lot of questions and with all ur guys' help on this site ive been slowly getting more knowledgable.
