Second battery in trunk

Just wondering how many of you guys are running a second battery in the trunk, or if you're using a battcap or something of that nature? I'm building a fiberglass trunk, and trying to decide if I should leave space for one or not? I'll be running about 1100 watts rms to 2 x 12's off one amp with a 3 farad cap, and a 4 channel highs amp also on a 3 farad cap, I have an optima yellow top up front, and have run a half dozen bass amps off of it and the 3 farad cap with no problems, however the max I was pushing was about 800 watts rms, since I'm pushing more power I'm trying to decide if a battcap or another yellow top is worth the money. I will have the 2 amps, a crossover and 7" LCD in the trunk with a few crossflow 12v fans for the amps under plexi, do you think I'll need the extra battery? I'm also upgrading my alternator to a high output 180 AMP, and have already done all my charging and ground wires with 4 gauge. Lemme know your opinions and setups. Thanks

well i say no to the extra batt.....if your changing your alternator and already have a yellow top, and a cap than you should be fine.....and where did you get the high output alternator and how much does it run?

I had a second battery...but I had to remove it because of intercooler piping. I used to have a yellow top up front and red top in the back. They worked great, no dimming when my system bumped or anything. Now, with one battery back there, there is a noticeable dimming in my lights...Once I have the piping all hooked up, I will have to figure a way to get out around this. You will need a battery isolator, and lucky for you I have one for sale..its a scosche 200 amper, usu sells for like 100. Ill sell it for 65 shipped...let me know if you need it.
