Rear Door Speakers in 02 TL's

Hi guys,

I want to put aftermarket rear speakers in my 02. My local audio shop tells me that the only thing I can put in is 4" co-axs. Anything bigger would have to involve cutting and retrofitting and biophysics and a little chemistry and that I would be looking at over $200 for just the install.

I don't want to take it to Best Buy or Fry's or anything like that for a second opinion, but what you have guys done in your rear doors?

Currently my set up is:

Alpine W205
Alpine PDX 4.100 currently bridged to 2 channels
Focal KF165's
JL W6v2
PDX 1.600

you can fit 5.25s with little to no effort. i had to cut the door skin to put 6.5s in that last tl i did. be careful pullin the panels off cuz there are little yellow plastic things that attach the lock rods. they break easy as shit.

5.25 and 6.5 are the rear speakers in your door. Actually its like that all around. It depends on what speakers you get i know a guy did his 03 TL 6.5 all around no mods think he was running infintys or polks

I am just about in the process to machine the brackets needed to put 6.5s in the doors of our TL's THe material is a bit expensive, so I am trying to see who else is interested in getting these to cheapin the price. Once I get an idea of who wants them, I will give a price that wil include material, time/labor to make them, tooling and shipping and handling. PM me or whatever, so lets get the ball rollin on this!!
