Powering PS2?

I want to run a constant power source to my slim fit PS2 (runs on 8.5V) but what could I run it to that would give me a constant power source? Ive heard the cigarette lighter outlet would, but how could I wire into it? I just bought this And im tryin to figure out how I can make it so that I dont have any wires or bulky crap sittin in the dash. Any help is appreciated

In theory you'd be better off with something more like this

And you'd be safer..

I thought those were used for the conversion between 110 and 12V in cars. Since the PS2 Slim only requires 8.5V, isnt that less than the cars battery charge?

mnd643, you're absolutley right. I feel like I've answered this questions 10 times already, but you DO NOT need a power inverter for the slim PS2.

I used the DC adapter like you showed. I bought a car power Y-adapter like this from radioshack:

cut off one of the pigtails and hardwire it to the power lines behind the dash. plug the PS2 dc adapter into there, electrical tape the two together well, and stuff it all behind the dash. Run the power cable over to your glovebox for PS2 and you're set.
