Portable MP3 player -VS- Boat cd player

Hey all,

I need to ask a quick question. I am wanting to buy a new small portable MP3 player. I am not sure which one, but something that is portable and cheap to go on my new boat.

I have a new boat and the Clarion CD player does not support MP3 cd's. So that is why I want a MP3 player. So I did notice it does have a AUX hookup and setting on my Clarion.
Now could I just get any MP3 portable player that has a head-phone jack and and hook it up in a single line feed to my aux on my clarion cd player and would it work?
Thanks
