Portable GPS/Nav System

Hi guys,
I was wondering if I can get some opinions from different people. I'm in the market for some portable GPS system for my car. I've tried Tom Tom GO 300, and i think it's pretty good and intuitive.

Any opinions on what's the best portable GPS system out there?...Any input would be appreciated

I have been using a Garmin Ique 3600. It is a palm-based PDA with built in GPS functionality. It also serves as my MP3 player, address book, calculaator, etc. I do not travel without it. One downside is that it does not have a replaceable battery. It also does not have Bluetooth. Garmin also offers the M5 whihc has the Windows interface plus Bluetooth and replaceable battery.

Thanks for the input...
I'm looking more of a car based, not the PDA type. Thanks though....
Anyone else?

I'm using the PDA one as well, TomTom 5 on a Dell Axim x30i. Definitely the cheapest way to go as the receiver's only abotu $150.

I also installed TomTom mobile on my cellphone (MPX220) and have GPS on that, definitely pimp.

TomTom GO would be my second choice 'cept I don't know how often they update their maps.

Don't discount the PDA-based GPS systems. Compare the size of the display on the Garmin to most of the portable auto-based GPS systems and you will find that it is as large or larger than most for a better price. You can also add addresses (contacts) and link those to GPS locations for quick routing.

check out the alpine blackbird - it's a portable touchscreen nav unit as well as a music player. you can also buy the optional dock and mate it with their monitors. retails for $750 i think but can get it in the 600s. not bad considering the alpine in-car version is at least twice this amount! if it is anything like the oem nav in my 02 tl-s, it's gonna be quite nice. i believe this is navtraffic capable too so you can get realtime reports.
