Port and Sub position, which way is yours facing?

I've pretty much spent the past 9 hours reading up on car audio in particular enclosure setup, and positioning. I'm in the process of building a ported enclosure for a 15" IDQv2 since my Hype-R isn't satisfying my thump needs.
Specs:
2.2cu ft tuned to 30hz filled with polyfill (since its .55cu ft under suggested spec)

I've had plans on having port towards the rear of the car, and sub facing up, since the clearance from the trunk floor to the navi unit is just about 14.5"

Right now I have both port and sub facing the rear of the car and it sounds nice, but I can't face the 15" towards the rear since I can only have the box 14.5" height, so my only other option was the face it up.

Which way did your subwoofer/port facing worked out the best for you? since the answers I'm getting from car audio forums is giving me answers like
sub up/port to the driver side is loudest in my car.
none of them being an Acura.

One says they were able to produce the best SQL with the sub facing up, port rear, while another says it was the worst, both in a trunk setup. So I'm kind of stuck on which way to port/face the subwoofer before I make the cuts.

Here's the box plans as of right now, port rear sub up:

I point the Sub to the rear to get the best sound. Its so the waves dont cancel each other
