is there a reason why you want to put a single din radio unit in place of the double din stock unit?
the stock unit looks nice, it compliments the rest of the radio stack and A/C controls, while providing tons of power for the speakers.
unless you really want to disrupt the look and feel of the center stack, I say no...it's not a great idea.

I am not understanding. Since my stock radio is only one din, why would I need a double din? I can see from the above post by the picture how it would work, but really, I do not think a big screen will really improve upon a single din that I have been used to. I am not too worried about the way it "looks". I am more concerned with a radio that will securely fit into the provided spot without much extra adjustment, and also for the quality of the unit. The reason I am doing this is simply to get the USB input that will play WAV files that my present unit does not play. So you see, I am happy with what I have, except for the fact that my 2009 model TL stereo system will not play WAV files. Otherwise I would not make this move. So I should ask, what is the best single din unit that will fit, if not the above Pioneer unit. And if I must, what is the best double din unit.

if you dont care for the stock aesthetics and just want to play the WAV files, then yes...the single din radio unit will work and will replace the stock double din. you will need a single din bracket.
it really doesnt matter which radio unit you choose...as they will all do well. you will just need a single din bracket to replace the stock factory unit.
