it's a decent unit depending on the price you're paying. tell me the price and I'll tell you if it's worth it

someone is selling it for $200 shipped for the premier version (if that makes a diff). im just sick of waiting 20 secs for my stock hu to read my burned cd. i also have a 10w7 so maybe an aftermarket hu like this one will make a ton of difference.

well you're not likely to find it new (maybe as reconditioned from pioneer, but not new) since it is no longer made. that being said, the fact that it is Premier actaully does make a difference. You'll get stronger preouts which you're amps will like. Assuming the radio is in good cosmetic and working shape, then 200 shipped is a pretty good price. I personally have the 8000 (same radio just older) that I paid a little under 150 for and it still is better than the vast majority of stuff out there today. Get it, you'll be happy with it.

I would recommend Pioneer head units in a heartbeat! I had the Premier (the first model with the 3-d organic el display). It was excellent because it had high pass filters built in, sub control with crossover, and even a 13-band adjustable equalizer. Unfortunately,I sold my car and it went along with it.

After having the tl for three years, I finally bought another pioneer headunit. It's the new deh-p9600mp. It has all the same features and more.
