Pioneer AVIC Z-1 Navi Pics anyone?

Hey A/V guys, just wondering if anyone happened to come across a good sneak peak pic or video of the NEW Pioneer AVIC Z-1 Navi yet?

I'm very curious to see how the new unit looks and functions but the MAIN concern is if Pioneer will FINALLY Fix the crappy touch screen sensitivity on the LCD screen.
Besides that, looks very promising!

Hmmm ,found this one from a press release , but bad quality. On the upper left corner I can see, HDD ----> Hard drive? 30gb? Woot!

Screen is beautiful! I hope they fixed the lcd screen touch to be more sensitive and responsive.

The blue lights match the TSX interior too!

I heard this was coming out in Spring 06'. Can anyone confirm that? I guess the only thing different with this one from the N2 is the hard drive and bluetooth? Damn this would be sweet!

It will work. But the XM support by Pioneer is better because it has the full on GUI.

I have Sirius with my Pioneer and there is not really a GUI for it.

ask your local stereo shop (don't support the big box stores) go to an independant. You will find better customer service, better workmanship and quality of installation.

I believe there is a dash kit coming in about a week or so for the new 06 civics.

Hey guys, I was wondering if there is a pretty easy way of making this fit into the 03 TL....I know they "say" the D1's dont fit although with just a little work I've heard of some people making it happen, and I didnt know if this will be the same for this or not....also, any word on being able to actually use it while driving? the one thing I hate is when they block out the navi while driving....in todays cars most new factory system is just as complicated as these are.....so again

1. Fit 03 TL
2. Any of this going to be locked?

thanks again guys, yall are a lot of help

1. you can make it fit by using a double din kit
2. there will be a bypass available so you can enter addresses and search while driving.

Here is some stuff i heard on 8th gen
Link: http://www.8thcivic.com/forums/showt...?t=2422&page=3

AVEAT: This represents a weeks worth of research and scouring nooks and crannies of the internet. To my knowledge this info is as accurate as it gets. Just be warned, no one has real experience with these units yet because they are just shipping now. If there are errors which cause the unit not to perform any of the following functions, don't come looking for me ~

SHIPPING NOW: Last week the 1st allocation shipped to dealers that were at the top of the list. The next allocation shipped this week. This is probably when mine is coming in (in the next couple weeks).

DVD Playback: It can be installed to play DVDs on the front screen while you are driving (must ground in certain places during install). I've heard the new model DOES NOT have a lockout like the older models did; but this is not confirmed.

AUDIO: I just check out crutchfield; it looks like the added WMA support besides the mp3. This unit can rip cds at 4x; which is way better then the Eclipse 5495. It also plays MP3 cds; not sure about Mp3 DVDs.
All things considered; this is the best navi unit on the market. If you want the best SQ without adding amps; the Eclipse power is slighly better for Audio, but the nav on the pioneer is even better than the Eclipse AVP 7000.
I'm not worried about SQ because I'll be running two sets of JL component speakers, and 3 JL W0 10" subs on an Extant 604x (400 watt X 4 channel amp).

Video: The resolution of this screen is 1440 x 234 for a total of 336,960 pixels; just like the previc Avic models. The eclipse AVN 7000 display is actually much low res (400 x 234; with 112,320 pixels on 7" display). For DVD the Pioneer is the model to get.

STEERING WHEEL and AUX 1/8" INPUT INTEGRATION:
YES! All you needs it the correct adapters. The Pioneer can use the wires from the steering wheel controls so you don't lose them. I made sure of this before I order it from the local shop. I figure; if I'm buying an EX and paying for all the extra options that come with it why should I live with losing any of them?

Price: $1250 Map; I'm sure dealer cost is right around $1600. I'm having this included into my loan; so I'm getting it locally. Thus I have to pay MAP + install.
