Pioneer AVIC-D1 vs Eclipse AVN2454

I am looking at both of these units and need some help selecting one. Anyone got any experience with either of these, good or bad.

AVIC has slightly better screen resolution, has phone mute wire, has XM capability, has XM traffic capability (with purchase of EXPENSIVE Pioneer brand XM tuner and coverage in youra rea), has trim ring included.

AVIC requires mod to view video while driving AND to make destination changes while driving.

AVIC has no DVD-Video drive and has terrible Sirius user interface.

Eclipse has slightly lower resolution on screen, has no phone mute wire, is not XM capable. Has great Sirius UI, has much better sound (5V out, better D/A), looks better, can support HD Radio. No trim ring in box. Has DVD Video drive (ground brake wire to enable video and enable destination changes while driving).

I had a 5435 in my Honda for a few weeks (sold it to a customer) and I liked it very much.

With the mod to the Pioneer unit, you can use the DVD-Rom unit to play DVD movies, right?

Elduderino, What don't you like about the sirius interface for the D-1? Did you get the Pioneer unit?

the 2454 has 2V preouts, not 5V, which is one of the main factors that is making me lean towards the 5435
