Pics of my HU Install_Large Files

Hey guys, I did a lot of searching around before deciding on my HU install...though I really didn't see what I was picturing in my head. The TL is a pain for flip-out monitor units but I'm happy with the way this install came out. Let me know what you guys think.

This is a Clarion VRX755VD, 7" screen (with the cool Ipod Interface..I really like it BTW)

There's also a Clarion NICE sitting up on the dash but I just have it suction cupped to the window...not ready for that insall yet.

Oh, and I did clean the car since this pics were taken...sorry for the dust.

Here's the link..I can't get them to load here, they are HUGE files: http://members.cox.net/harrjar/aboutme.html

Looks good..

I also had a flip out.. They just don't really work with our car at all.. Covered the AC Controls and part of my Navi..

Dual din kit from StreetEffectz is the way to go..

Actually, the Clarion has such a big screen and there's no better Ipod Interface known to man. It's quick and it's nearly like using the real thing, since it make a little Ipod-like screen. That was a big selling point for that unit.

I was really sold on the dual-din units...but then I realized that there isn't a single one that does everything I'm looking for. The NICE and this unit together can do just about anything.

I just liked having the independece of all the different functions, and there's so much flexibility. When I get it all installed, it should be pretty nice looking and I won't have to compromise on any functionality.

I thought the dual-din would look nicer but the trick to the flip out was the custom mounting bracket behind the trim plate. We needed that to get the unit as low as it can go and back into the dash. You can see that it only blocks about half of the climate control buttons, but they are still useable and the knobs/ screen are still completely clear.

I had the Metra kit first and the screen blocked the entire climate control section...it was crap.
