PICS: Just got the Kenwood Excelon DDX7015 and Kenwood KVAS300 audio video selector

Its a double din unit with a dvd/mp3/cd and the works behind it. The screen tilts down about half way so you can put in the disc and its set to go. Its also a true LCD touchsceen. Not one of those active TFT screens which are good but in my opinion lcd's are probably better.
Getting installed on monday. The 6 disc stock cd changer will be gone and it will be replaced with this. So there will be 2 screens in the vehcile. Navi on top then underneath that the climate control features then underneath that this unit. More pics will be posted on monday after the install.

Oh man that plus the stock navi screen too? You won't need any dome lights cuz your car is gonna be nice and bright from the inside.

Can't wait for the pics.

Are you still gonna lose the Navi voice or can they work around this?

No, as of right now everything navi related will be incorporated with the system. The stock 6 disc in dash cd changer will be gone and this unit will replace it. I just hope that everything goes well because as of now no one i know has this unit in our cars so i have no clue how it is. All i know is that its a great system and it blew me away when i was playing with it at the retailer. So we'll see.

My friend have tried retaining the voice on the navi. That one is gonna be tricky. It sound easy to do, but it's a lil more complicated. If that shop that is doing it for you does it...thumbs up to them!

Look, its not very complicated. I bought the kenwood double din unit, then later found out that it was a piece of shit so then i returned it before it was even installed. Then i went ahead and bought the pioneer avic N1 thats in the pic that u posted and that is what i have. You get it now. Or must i break it down in more simplier english.

considering the 1st u made said the pics are in your link....when ur thread clearily states kenwood ddx7015, then u edit, realizing u look like an idiot to say that u ended up buying the pioneer.

so get your shit straight assclown

Look man, i dont know what your problem is.

If you do a search under kritikadeo you will find 2 threads relating to aftermarket headunits.

The kenwood system which i got first was posted on 4/7/04.

The pioneer system, which is what i have, was posted on 4/18/04.

So what does tell you about which system i have in my car, the first one or the second one.

Are you satisfied now.

yeah, i got it guys...SE did the install, which came out SICK i think...everyone thinks its stock...and personally, i think this is a great unit...much less prone to fuck up, like my last setup (alpine iva c801 and dva 5205) did...the flip out mechanism fucked up..i picked this up like the first day it was out in january i think it was. i have no complaints, and def. this its a dope head unit...i also got new interior speakers, and a custom trunk done by SE...it all looks pretty pimp, I will post pics of that later on....

PS--If you know someone that works at best buy, they can get this shit for $1000...and the navi for $700 (which I am picking up hehe)

Why exactly do you say that the Kenwood is a POS? It looks pretty good. Did you have any problems with it?

njzprettyboy's install looks great and he doesn't seem to have any problems with it.

If you compare the kenwood unit and the pioneer unit right next to each other, you'll know what i am talking about.

But in reality you really cant comapre the two, because of the price difference. The kenwood is almost half the price of the pioneer unit, depending on where you go.
But on the other hand the pioneer unit has a shit load of more features and options compared to the kenwood. I did my research on both units for about 2 months before i decided to go with the pioneer and ending up returning the kenwood. And l like the screen and the background pics on the pioneer more then the kenwood. There are a lot more things also but i dont want to get into it. It'll just get too long.

Oh, okay. So it's not necessarily a POS, the Pioneer is just better. But for the price difference that was expected.
