Phoenix Gold Titanium 400.2

Hi, I'm new to this forum and I was wondering if $350 is a good price for this amp. Second, is this amp good in terms of power? It doesn't have much power per channel but I heard, it will rump. Does anyone recommend any other amps for this price range? I do not want to spend more than $350 on an amp no matter how much better it is.

Thanks

P.S. What speakers would you recommend for $150-$170 each? I wanted to get 10" subs because I would preffer clarity and I heard 10's are clearer than 12's. I was thinking JL 10W3v2's.

Thanks in advance,

Rosh

The Ti amp's are great but I think the Tantrums will give you all the performance for a little less $$ and keeping the Phoenix Gold quality. The Ti amp is a lower profile and has a cooling fan. I have a Tantrum 500.2 driving two 10" Phoenix Gold Titanium subs. Could not be happier.

You say that the Ti amp has a lower profile. What exactly does that mean? Are you saying that the 400.2 Titanium will not be as good as the Tantrum 500.2 which costs less?

the only thing i do not like about pg products (usually the higher line stuff) is that you need to maintain at least/around a 14.4 voltage or you won't get max power from the amp. but i do like the box design which will make mounting (and system design/layout) very easy. otherwise, search ebay and what not to see that that is a good price.

The Ti series is thinner. They use a cooling fan instead of a heat sink. The Ti are significantly more $$.
