Newbie TSX Owner w/ IPod/Ice Link ?

I have been searching this forum for some time and I want to be sure I have my information correct before I go out and spend the money on some things. I just purchased an '05 TSX (non-nav). I want to use my I-Pod and I am planning to use the Ice Link Adaptor. So do you have to disconnect your XM hook-up or is there a way to keep the XM and still use the adaptor for my I-Pod? Special Mods or harnesses, etc.? Any information sharing would be great. Thanks!

Great lmk how it works out. I'm hoping I can keep the XM and use the I-pod. It's only been a little over a week and I'm hooked on the XM already! Thanks

Well, the Icelink sounds great, but when it's plugged in, the XM has alternator whine.

I think that as an installer I could get rid of this, but it would take a bit of work. It's probably not a plug-and-play job.

Maybe time for one more test before we give the car back...

Well, had to take the car back, did not get to test inserting a ground loop isolator on the XM audio line.

Thanks for the information. I did some visits to some shops yesterday and it seems to consensus is you have to choose XM or I-Pod if you want to use the factory unit. I guess I will just stick with XM for now and do a speaker upgrade first. I can live with the changer, but I travel 600 to 1000 miles a week and it sure would be nice not to have to change CD's so frequently. Having said that I am really getting hooked on XM ESPN140. Well, that's not totally true.

If you use an audio switcher like the UAX3, like CJams has used in his 05, you canhave both - you just have to have another swith.

The XM and the Icelink don't like being on the same audio line at the same time...
