Newbie Needs Bass: Recommendations?

I know the ideal situation would be to replace everything, but I'm on a limited budget, so I wanted some recommendations as to what I can do on the cheap. Would upgrading the amp, and at-least the rear speakers make a noticeable difference? Any particular components that are decent and cheap that you can recommend?

Thanks for your help.
