Will this work with other mp3 players as well? I have the Dell Digital Jukebox and like all the features you guys mentioned about being able to use steering wheel controls and all.

According to denison the ice-link plus will display the id3 tags on any decks that support cd-text. The person I spoke with said he wasn't sure if the TSX head unit supports cd-text, any idea where I can find that info from? But seeing how cd-text isn't supported with regular cds, I'm guessing its not possible.

Didn't see this posted in this thread, but Edmunds.com has pretty specific instructions on how to install this on a MY04 TSX.

This is the article explaining your IPod options:

While I was on the phone with a Denison rep changing my order, I asked if the Icelink plus was available for the TSX yet, but just not on the webpage. They told me that it was, so if anyone is thinking of ordering the Icelink 1.1, you can phone in your order and get the plus. It also runs for the same price as the 1.1. I'll post an update with results on wether or not the tags show up on a non-nav head unit soon...

it has the possibility to display id3 text and has a interface that lets you choose playlists.

It looks like Dension just updated their site in the last few days with the Icelink Plus for Sony head units. I currently have an order in for the v1.1 adapter but I am trying to change over to the plus. I spoke with a rep and he told me that some of the new features, besides the text display, is that the plus has the ability to scroll through playlist, albums, songs... etc. I guess the old iceLink could would only allow for changing tracks with the car's controls.

I've been using one for a few months now, and while it's possibly the best of the charging transmitters it is still subject to the same weaknesses of all other models.

It's as good as you're gonna get for a temporary iPod solution, but if you find yourself using the iPod a lot in the car it's worth it to step up to an aux adapter (which I'm shopping around for right now).

bringing this back up. has dension significantly changed its site around? i remmeber a few months ago i was posting about this and found two merchants. one that allowed for the ipod to be controled from the wheel and one that did not. one used the ipods port on the bottom and the other used left n right rca cables.....

icelink DEFINATLY uses the wheel correct? is dension the one where u could choose from a few mounting options when you bought it? or am i thinking of another brand?

any one have any issues with the dension?

I just ordered the new shond03 that comes already modified for Nav cars. You don't have to do any splicing! Here's the link: http://www.logjamelectronics.com/blitzhonsnyitiv2.html

I also ordered the icelink v.1.1. I'm going to detail my car tomorrow (if weather permits) with my new PC using Meguiars Quik Clay Detailing System, Sonüs Paintwork Cleanser, Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax, and finish it off with Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze. On Friday, I'll install the icelink! Pics to follow!

I paid 149 for the icelink and 129 for the shond03. i think the shond03 for the TSX w/o Nav is 99 and the unit for Nav models is 30 bucks more. however, it usually costs 30 for the accord adapter anyway. the advantage is that i don't have to do any splicing. everything is plug-n-play.

at the same time, i haven't seen anything physically so i can't be 100% sure. i'm just going from what logjam told me. keep your fingers crossed.

i know right. the only way i justified this project is that i got the iPod from 189 from apple.com. they are having a refurbished sale. so, my project was about 5 bills. if i paid, let's say 399 for the iPod, my project would have totalled almost 7 bills. i couldn't justify that.

yeah i cant exactly find a way to justify 200-300 bucks for a "simple cord" to play music on. i kinda lucked out with my ipod, i got it when i mailed my zen back in with the best buy replacement thing. so i "paid" full price for it some time ago, and got the thing again. but now i dont really wanna spend more money on it, cuz like you said its going to totally somewhere above 500 bucks

Not sure why ccarbajal08 had to pay 149 for the icelink and 129 for the shond03. I ordered both direct from dension for about 220. I have the non nav version but it seems the bundled version from dension is cheaper than going seperately.

Yeah the Dension is shipping now. Mine is on it's way!!! I'll have a mini-review of the Iceline Plus on a non-navi when it shows up on the 4th.

You're right! I just cancelled my order @ Logjam and placed an overnight order at Dension for Icelink Plus. The only drawback is that I have to do some splicing for it to work with my Nav. But, I saved some dough. Thanks ccoffey!

I installed it yesterday and I used it on my road trip to Palm Springs. However, this morning, it stopped working! It may be a connection that got loose? Or, maybe the plus version still has bugs? Wish me luck tomorrow as I trouble shoot! Thanks!

Text display?

It was asked before, but does anyone who has installed the IceLink Plus found out if there is artist/title/track display capability?

Also, what controls have changed between the standard IceLink and the Plus?

I've got an iPod with the standard IceLink, and it would be great to be able to go through albums without using the iPod, by using the CD up and down buttons. Much safer.

Thanks!

I'd recommend contacting Denison if yours just stopped working if it was already working. If it's not the hardware, it's probably a loose cable or something similar.

I believe so, but I have Non-navi. I also removed the center console cover so I could run the wire down the tran tunnel to the arm rest/ storage area.

Thanks for the quick reply. Hopefully someone with a navi can help me out better since there hasn't been a full detailed write up yet.

Does anyone have the IceLink plus connected to 2005 TSX with the integrated satellite radio? I want to know if this radio displays the track information from the ipod, like it would the XM radio station track info.

just got off the phone with dension. the new icelink for an 04 tsx with navi isnt available for another 30 days. it is being tested and awaiting release. they said you wont even need the additional spliced wire harness for the navi model because it will have that perticular cable as an option directly from dension. they also said you wont need a shond or blitzsafe adapter because the icelink is going to have that whole feature/requirement built in.

of course this all happens durring the 24 hours i convinced myself to fork up the 200 dollars and just buy the damn adapter finally...

I'm glad my order was back ordered... I will cancel it and wait for the new TSX IceLink to come out.
