Ok, just got off the phone with Dension support and they said that the iPod continuing to charge after the ignition is turned off is expected behaviour. He said it shouldn't affect the car's battery. I'm hoping that's the case! It's weird how mines does it and accsuperstar's doesn't though.

Nope it doesn't boost it. It's just the straight output from the iPod's dock connector. Ever since I put in the Ice-Link, I have to increase the volume a little to get the same level of volume that I had with the Belkin. I usually have my volume at 30-35 now. It used to be at 25-30 with the Belking charger. All my MP3's are normalized at 89 decibels though so I usually have to up the volume anyways.

so with this... we can use stock controls... what about nav screen?
so with this we can control the ipod with the stock steering wheel controls and radio controls? and also does any of the ipod information or song information display on the navigation when the ipod is functioning? for example, if a michael jackson song is playing, will the nav display the song name, artist, time and so forth? thanks.

nope, just controls. It displays a track number, but (as far as I know) it doesnt really correlate to the ipods track, its more of a counter.

i would imagine you would have to spice the line driver into the ice-link and I dont have any idea how hard that would be.

I just installed the icelink in my TSX and I used a mount by a company called ProClip. It mounts next to the gearshift pretty nicely. Here is a link to the product. It works pretty good and holds the ipod solid.

Wierd couldn't edit my post. Anyways are there any different instructions to install this then the one posted for the 03 Accord. From the pictures I saw it didn't seem like it was too hard of a task, I guess the hard part is just remove the panneling. Thanks again.

Yeah I spent two hours reading this thread and other threads. Doesn't seem too hard, as I thought I had to remove the center console out and the navi unit earlier. I can solder the wires togeather no problem, so I think I'll give it a shot myself. I got quoted $120 for the install. I was just planning to put the ipod in the cd changer box. But it seems like i would have to drill a pretty big hole through the box to get one end of the cable through. Thanks for this wonderful FAQ!!

I just installed mines and I love it. I screwed it into the two covers beside the VSA button because it looked nice. I also said to myself if i didn't like it I could go buy two plates from Honda and replace them. i will have pics soon

Yeah I agree the hourly rate isn't bad compared to most shops, but I didn't want to have to spend that extra money because I'm on a low budget, but I'd really like to hook up my Ipod to my system. If I find myself in some trouble, I'll definately have them do it, but for now I think I can handle it. I know it will probably take a while to do it, but I don't mind the challenge. I was thinking about putting the mount in cd changer box, any thoughts? I'd probably have to drill a hole big enough to fit the cable through, any one know if I can buy a replacement if I mess up? Thnx.

I just installed the iceLink in my 04 TSX w/o Nav in about 30 minutes and it was a breeze. It was about 220 bucks for the whole kit including the proclip but there isnt another system out there that charges, gets the music at a line out level, sends your steering wheel controls to the ipod, and cradles the iPod as simply and nicely as the iceLink. I hear people talking about other adapters and using a belkin power adapter and having to use a ground loop isolator and a cell phone mount, blah blah. If you want really cheap and easy, use the iTrip and suffer through its issues. If you want to spend lots of time monkeying with something that wont end up as nice, try all those other methods which will eventually add up in cost and in my opinion, in the end not work as well. Email me if you want to see the final picture and I will send it out. ccoffey2@tampabay.rr.com. The full iceLink kit comes with the SNhond but if you already have that, you can buy the kit without the SNhond adapter. As for other inputs, because the SNhond makes RCA inputs available, you can just put a high quality Y splitter on each RCA input on the SNhond and hook one side of each Y splitter to the iceLink and the other to an extension RCA cable and bring both cables out of the passenger footwell instead of just the iceLink. My iceLink cable comes out the passenger footwell, runs just under the edge of the plastic center console on the passenger side and up to the proclip which mounts just to the right of the gear shift. I researched this for months before buying it. I dont regret the money one bit. Its worth every penny. Not to mention, the install is so easy, I saved 150 bucks by not taking it somewhere to have it installed. I hear the Navi version is a bit tougher to install but I cant really comment on that as I have no first hand knowledge. If anyone has install questions, just ask and I will do my best to answer. You will be shocked how easy this is to install on a non Navi head unit.

The Dension site lists one for the TSX, but it's $219 instead of $149 at Logjam. Er, does this one include the adapter harness and all that? In that case, it's not so bad.

The one at denison incluces the SONHD3 adapter AND a dennison Ice-link adapter is what you'll actually need to be able to charge and control your ipod through the stereo system and steering wheel. If you have the navi you'll need to splice the included adapter and buy the audio attatchment or buy this: http://honda.autowebaccessories.com/...4_127_5510.php. I'm just going to buy the denison kit and buy that adapter so I don't have to deal with slicing and soldering the wires.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the help.
What audio attachment? From Dension?
Was that (splice and buy audio attachment) or (buy this), or was it (splice) and (buy audio attachment or buy this)? I'm guessing the latter. Stupid ambiguous language.

Sorry for being ambigous. It was the latter you can either splice and buy the Honda Audio attatchment. Or you can just buy the y-cable so you don't have to deal with splicing/soldering. There is a thread somewhere on this forum about how people used it to use their XM and DVD player at the same time.

Anyone have any pros / cons between the icelink and the new icruze? http://www.monstercable.com/press/pr..._11_icruze.asp
I also see that ice link has a new plus version that displays track info, sounds just like the icruze. I am looking into getting an ipod, and would be also getting one of these.

The iCruze will display the tracks on only certain head units, I doubt it will be compatible with the TSX navi screen as even the factory mp3 player cannot display text on the screen. However the iCruze has an optional screen that will display the text, which would be sweet if could place it somewhere conviently on the TSX. I ordered the Ice-link but once I heard about the iCruze I decided to wait and cancelled my order.
