Need help- 98 TL- removing radio
Hi, I am looking for some help removing my radio.
I searched online and the only site that tells how to remove the radio is this website
http://www.cdplayerrepair.com/Remtips/tl_rem.htm
with the following instructions:
These units are hooked in from two 5/16 bolts in the rear of the stereo. In order to see the screws, there is a piece of carpet molding that wraps around below the radio. It unsnaps and opens like a door from the corner closest to the drivers gas pedal. Once that door is unsnapped, with a flashlight you can look up behind and see the 2 silver bolts that screw straight up. These just have to be loosened, not removed, and the radio will pull out straight. We use a 5/16 socket with a swivel, and 10 inch extension to get to them. You have to have your head down by the gas pedal to see it, and to loosen them. That was the way the we always did it, however, others have said it is easier from the passenger side. Also important is to put a light from the other side to light it up. The screw just needs to be loosen not even a full turn (more like 1/3 of a turn)
But those 2 bolts are impossible to get at.. THERE must be a better and easier way.
Please share your stories .. Thanks
