Need Help!
I posted on another thread but i didnt put much detail into it so here it goes. i just got 2 12' Rockford Fosgate subs with them being in a box already. The specs for the subs are
-power range 50-100 watts RMS each
-peak power 200 watts
-frequency response 28-400 Hz
-sensitivity 89 dB
-4-ohm impedance
-top mount depth 5-1/16"
-sealed box volume 1.25 cu. ft.
-ported box volume 2.0 cu. ft.
Now my problem is setting them up. I want to use my stock acura headunit. How would i go about setting up these speakers. I know i need a new amp but dont know how i should hook them up and dont know if i need a loc. I want to make this setup as simple as possible and just want to run the subs as easy and cheap as it can get. Im not looking to go to competitions or anything.

The easiest way to do this would probably be to take a high-level signal directly from a pair of the stock speakers. I'm not completley familliar with the TL but there are lots of people here who are. I *think* that you would need a LOC to grab the high-level signal. hth

you could pick up an amp with speaker level inputs, that would eliminate your need for a line output converter. would simplify your install a bit. with 4 owm drivers, I would try to find something that is 2 ohm mono stable and wire the subs in parrallel. (both subs + connected to amp +, same with the -). If not 2 ohm mono stable, you'll have to run them in stereo or 8 ohm mono, which would be fine, but you'd be paying for power you're not using. Power is cheap these days and for what you're doing, you don't need the highest end amp so you should be able to do this cheaply and easily.

My opinion would be to get a two channel amp that would run stable at 2 ohms, also try to get a 200-400 watt amp that has high level speaker inputs (from your stock speakers). If you can not find a amp that has high level speaker inputs then you will need a Line Output Converter which you would splice into the stock speaker wires that would convert them into a RCA output. Or simply go to your nearest Best Buy or Circiut City and explain to them what you are trying to do and they can usually point you in the right direction.
I hope this was of some help.
