Navi update disk issue
Got the new update disk version 2.70 for a 2003 TL-S and while it works fine just driving around a problem happens when you enter in an address to Route you to.
It routes just fine and when you start following the blue line everything works great except at various points it says "Not on the digitized road" even though I'm on a major freeway in Southern California. It then spontaneously goes between telling me what freeway I'm on and the same "Not on the digitized road" message at the bottom of the screen.
The acura symbol still tracks your exact location on the map and the blue line is still there. So you can simply look at the blue line and follow it ok, yet the DVD is having a hard time figuring out what street or freeway to display on the screen. Which of course means no voice telling you when to turn, how many miles till next offramp/turn/etc. This issue only happens when using the the Routing part of the unit. Any other part seems to work just fine.
1 1/2 hours on the phone with acura tech (after 30 min run-around with NAVTECH) and finally a supervisor is going to try and help. The Acura tech guy said he had the same issue when he checked his disk while I was on the phone with them. So obviously it sounds as if there is a problem with this latest update disk.
Anyone else have any problems with this latest upgrade disk??

Haven't had the problem personally but it is more common than you think. I used to work at a Lexus dealer where customers seem to always want a disc upgrade every year and I saw this alot. Talk about pissed off customers! Its usually something simple on the disk but most times you just have to get it replaced. Must be a pretty wide margin of error on the mapping company's part.

Yeah, a bit frustrating as to me the Routing part of the system is the most critical so you'd think the company would get it right. But what really upset me was NAVTECH basically kissed me off to Acura who then tried to kiss me off back to NAVTECH.
Having owned Acura's for 12 years this experience is the only one that has put a really bad taste in my mouth for Acura and their partner Navtech.

I am having the same issues with the new disc for my 2003 CL-S. See my post. Yes Navteq sucks. They could careless. My first disc was defective because 2x in 2 weeks the nav system showed yellow and blue screen saying disc unreadable. I had some more issues as well.

UPDATE: I got fed up with this 3rd update disc. I inserted my 2nd disc and got it working. The system is now fine. 100% fine. The new disc has flaws and bugs. Go back to your old disc.

It seems from talking to them that Alpine is no longer involved in the disk updates has in past years. And it seems the new company that took over has had some issues. I too am going to put the old disk back in and ask for a refund or credit on this latest update disk.
This new one just plain sucks with all it's problems. I mean it is almost totally worthless for using to drive around the Los Angeles area (yet Orange County seems to work fine). It hardly works on the north parts of the 605, 60, 101, and 5 freeways as it keeps losing the ability to tell what road you are on.

You have to "force download" an older version for it to work again. If you use the search function here and enter "Force download" you'll find posts with directions and pics, it's pretty easy. I'd look for it and post the link, but I've got to run to work in in a sec.
