My System So Far

So, here's a list of what I have so far:
Alpine PDX-4.100 4-channel car amplifier (100 watts RMS x 4)
Alpine SPR-69C [6x9 100 Watts RMS]
MB QUART PVF216 6.5" 2-Way Premium Components

I was thinking about going with 2 10" Alpine SWS-1243D in a sealed box running off an Alpine PDX-1.600. It won't be awhile till I put all this stuff in, but whats your guys feedback? Should I go with a custom made box or just buy like a Q-logic to save some $?

If you have time you could just make your own custom box. I'm liking what your going to be putting in though.

I have the same car, and running MB Quart P comps up front and alpine type R's in the rear. ..Running off a alpine amp, you will love the sound upgrade. Definately put a sub because you will be seriously lacking some much needed lows...I had a 12" in the trunk but I needed the space so I built a custom box that holds a 8" kicker L7...Not a thumper but it add s a little low in there....

Why the Type S? Get the Type R's. Or unless you want to have space at the end, get a single Type X in a sealed/ported box.

That's what Im doing, and I got a TL. One single L7 ( 750 Rms ), in a ported/sealed enclosures!

I like the 6 cd changer so i want to keep the head stock. I know its better if I upgrade it, but i was originally going to put in a dvd receiver and it all this custom work would be too much money.

I used to work at bestbuy in the car audio so i know the type r's knock like crazy. For the cl i just want to have a moderate bump and i think 2 decent 10's in a sealed box will do the job.

is it still fine to use the oem headunit w/ my future setup? (I want to keep the cd changer & controlls on the steeing wheel) Should i get custom box done or just get a Qlogic from crutchfield. I got one b4 from them and everything worked out fine. I basically trying to save money, but get the job done at the same time.

Find a good audio shop and get them to make a custom box. IMO good install and box makes all the difference. The box for my D9 was 140 and worth every penny.

Definately don't get the Q-Logic box. Custom tuned to the right specs makes up at least 50% of the SQ/SPL.

If you can get the pieces cut I can put it together for you, I don't have any saws/jigs etc.
