mp3's and the '04 TL

Looking to buy the '04 TL and have many burned CD's with mp3's. I have reviewed posts in the archives and ask this - what is the most economical way to get my mp3's to work with the audio system without further distortion, increased S/N ratio, etc.?
Will DVD-R/+R discs from a computer DVD-RW drive work? Prices have dropped so much, and they are easy to install. Thoughts/ideas?
