Monster iCharger, iPod and TSX AUX input
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I bought an iCharger and took out my compartment. From my understanding, there would be an input on my navigation where i would plug in a 3.5mm cable and then run it into the iCharger. I understood that I would not be able to change songs through the head unit but still output the sound to my speakers. I looked around with a mirror. What am i missing? I was pretty sure i didnt need an SNHOND3 since I just wanted to play out the speakers... Thanks
I have an 04 with no XM and no plans to add XM in the future. I just want the ability to play out of my iPod without having to use a shitty FM transmitter.
Here is the iCharger btw... http://www.techdepot.com/product.asp?productid=2196866...

Where did you get the idea that the nav system has a 3.5mm jack? If the goddamned thing had a 3.5mm jack, we wouldn't have all BOUGHT SHOND3s : )
You need an SHOND3, I'm afraid. That's what it does - let something at a preamp level play through the speakers.
Or you could use an icelink and get the cradle and steering wheel control.

Uhhh, check. Unless the HU "sees" a device plugged into that socket that properly emulates the Honda accessory databus messages saying "I'm an authorized device!", the HU won't allow you to select the AUX input.
The diff between nav and non-nav is the modded harness you will also need. Check the FAQ thread about this in the FAQ section.

The people with Mini Coopers actually need a similar device but I think it costs more (depending on their radio system). I've been researching that for a friend who has one on order.)
Soundgate's MSRP is $114. I have heard of them being available online for $95 plus shipping. You still need the harness from Acura.
I can sell you one for $95 plus shipping from 97209 if you want... but I don't have any of the harnesses. I'd wait a few days - Blitzsafe is introducing a new one that I hope to have later this week to do the same thing and maybe even be a bit cheaper - and include the cable!

beautiful, definitely will wait for the blitzsafe... will it be specifically for the ipod and provide charging or will it just provide the same bare function of making a recognizable AUX input that will function with NAV systems without the currently needed Y-harness (correct?)

i just found a product that appears discontinued...
Basically i'm looking for this and I suppose I'm going to need a Y-adapter to keep my navi working...
Would you happen to know where I can find this? Thanks

(sigh) This thing has indeed been replaced by a BLitz PN. All this thing would do is charge and give an audio out. Doesn't do much for you compared to...
There will be one Blitz that will do audio only, and another that will do iPod control and charging and have a cable, as I understand it. You will still need a dock if you want one.
