I have a Memphis high-current 50x2 running my subs. Stable to 1ohm MONO, under which configuration it's pushing 400-600 watts RMS. Thumps really well, never a problem. Their lower-end subs are junk though.

i've heard alot about running systems at too low of an ohm level could be dangerous for your system. this memphis amps run 1100 at 1 ohm and that sounds a little crazy for me. any feedback?

I don't know about dangerous, but I think the way it works is this:
If the amp is made to handle 1ohm mono or lower numbers it's usually a very high-current amp (draws very high amperage at peak output). This will require seperate power sources (seperate battery, altenator, definitely a capacitor) because if you put too much draw on your vehicle's 'power grid' (haha, a little blackout humor) you could fry stuff. First to go would prob be the altenator.
But with these things in place there is no danger of running at that resistance, provided you are keeping the amps cool (can be another challenge).
Again, I'm no expert, but I think that is pretty accurate....

I have heard good things about Memphis, but personally, I think that Soundstream is the way to go....good clean power, and if you shop around the prices aren't too bad.
