MDF too sound deadening?
Just curious before I get started... I'm planning on mounting my amp to 3/4 MDF in my trunk. The MDF covers the whole back of the backseat. Is this going to deaden the sound? significantly? Should I cut a hole in the center where the ski rack port is and leave it down? Just thinking for the best sound here...

IMO, it will help very little. The backseat isn't where you want sound deadening because the sound goes through the cabin. If anywhere, you want sound deadening on the rear deck, trunk lid and entire trunk bed, keeping the sound inside of the vehicle. I say remove your spare or leave it, build a false floor, and mount your amps to that leaving your backseat open just in case you put skis and/or need to fold the seat down for further storage.

I guess I really don't have to many other options than to mount it to the back of the seat...
