I got a chance to hear these speakers and I was like wow. I havent heard anything so nice before. I still have got my Alpine X in yet and was wonder if anyone has any feedback on the QSD 216, I heard them at sound advice and they where selling them for $1,200.

hey dnd you have entirely to much time and money on your hands... personally i have not heard a pair of mb quarts that i like but that is just me... i think they sound way to bright... and screechy... and $1200 is rediculous... i mean i could see if you were competing but just to have in your daily driver...

well I havent bought components since my Type Rs and this time I just wnat to get hte right ones and dont change them out. The Qs wernt harsh at all there tweeter do have a rubber surround. I am not payin 1200. I am gonna get them for much much cheaper from the local dealer here that did my system. Also I have a $550.00 credit with them and the Q will cost me $699.99.

People usually associate MBQ with "bright" tweeters, but that doesn't hold true with the top-end model. They are pretty darn smooth.
try to listen to the alpine type X first. Chances are, they will sound very nice.

either would be a really good speaker the question is how do you plan to filter them? through the H/U? the Amp? a powered crossover? unless you are going to use a crossover i would be inclined to go with the type x's, but that is just my opinion based on how i like the speakers to respond

everything will be done proffesionally so I really dont know how it will be filtered. I know the last system they did of mine was filtered at 80hz from the HU. WHen I turned the QSD up on the display board they werent bright just really really smooth and loud. Now I just need to make my mind up.
