The two mounting blocks I provided must be in on the wrong side - one way they are 3/4" and the other way they are 5/8" thick - they need to be on the 5/8" side - I've installed 12 of these with that EXACT kit with PERFECT fitment. And you need to adjust the headunit to the left with some kind of washers or something. The kit is made to fit perfectly - I can see from the pics the unit is to the right and tiliting down to the right - the unit needs to be adjusted around it itself, not the other way around:

Same kit, same unit, same mounts

Ohhhhh, that could be the problem - PM me your address and I'll send them right out, unless you want to make them yourself - they epoxy right to the factory mounting cage and to the back of the trim piece.

Quick question about the DVD

Couple of quick questions about your new toy. How is the quality of the screen when playing DVD's? Second, can you play DVD's while driving? I know older models of in dash DVD's you could bypass the cutoff feature by grounding the parking brake wire. However, some of the newer pioneers and eclipse, use a gyroscope that can sense when the vehicle is moving, making the DVD player unavailable while the vehicle is moving. Just wondering if the Kenwood is like this?

Thanks, Lucas

Lucas the quality of the screen is excellent, I'm actually very impressed. And you can play DVD's while driving just tell whoever installs it that you don't want it grounded to the parking brake (Kenwood didn't use the crappy gyro like Pioneer).

i have similiar problem with my 7017 and the left side gap, althought mine is not as apparent as yours, and it is an easy fix, just needs to be played around with a bit. the only thing that disappoints me with the 7017 is that there are no images or visualizations, its a very boring unit when it comes down to it. althought it does come packed with features. not sure which outweights the other.
