Just got a KVT-910DVD

Now i need your guys' help.

I need a dash kit, but i refuse to allow the screen to cover the climate control buttons.

Anyone know of a dash kit that isnt so cheesy? I want it to match as perfectly as possible... texture, tone, everything. but maby i want to install the VAFC in the dask kit too... hmmm...

Im looking at a custom fabricated mold arnt i? damnit...

SECOND, i need ideas/pics/DIY's of where i should install my changer, and my PS2, and hopefully someone has tips on headrest TV installs.

Is hire StreetEffectz to do it, but they are kinda 1,000 miles away....

The only dash kit available is the Metra kit and yes your screen will cover the climate buttons. Mine does not cover the climate lcd window, just the buttons below and I can still reach them behind the screen. Other than that, you are looking at a custom face and install. Good luck and keep us posted.

in order for the screen to not cover the climate controls at all your screen would have to be almost at the very bottom.. wich one will leave alot of room in your dash kit.. and 2 would make it hard to load cd's while the car is in park...

buy either the metra or scosche kit and mod it to work the way you need it to. since you are picky about the finish, a guy sanded his down and he said it matched enough. so if you intend on doing this, you might was well fab a new lower opening so it does not cover your a/c controls. the good thing is that it's gonna line up and secure like factory.

I think it will look a lil weird to have the opening at the bottom when the monitor is retracted... unless you put a design or something at the top part of the dash kit. How about returning the 910 and getting kenwood's new doubledin monitor?

yeah that new double din is crazy... if i decide to redo my system again i am definately go with either that or the new eclipse double din.. but he did mention that he might put his VAFC display in the faceplate... which would not be hard to do and would look pretty hot... but just to put the screen on the bottom and nothing on top yes it would look off..

since you plan to have a VFAC, put that above the deck. But you'll have to retract the screen to see the VFAC. You could dissassemble the 910 an flush mount the screen and controls... that's a ton of work though...
