just bought a used '02 tls and need info on adding sub

ok before i get flamed i wanted to say that ive used the search feature and didnt really find what i was looking for.

now i am ok with the current stock setup but want to get a deeper bass. i was thinking of adding a amp to the factory hu and a sub in the trunk OR adding a amp and putting a sub in place of the factory sub.

has anyone done this before? any details would be appreciated.

Don't put the sub where the factory sub is, get two 12" by rockford or MTX get an amp dont get Rockford their amps suck get either a MTX, Directed or JL get a 4 gauge wiring kit ang get a hi to low converter and if you want better base get a cap, but the best way to do is to use a proffesinal help

I wonder...does the stock Bose system have outputs for an external amp? If so you'd have no problem achieving your goal of more bass.

Actually your factory system does have a low level out to the rear sub. I added a sub and tapped off of this feed. However, the crossover is set too low for me so I cant get the punch I want out of my 10" audiobahn. Also, I need to crank the gain to match the relatively low level of this factory sub output. Another option is to tap off of the low level output of the deck that feeds the separate Blose equalizer, this is my next step to get full range sound that I can crossover at my discretion.

If you want a real sub, get a JL w6v2 or w7. If you want a real sub that costs a lot less and IMO is of excellent quality, look at audiobahn's line of subs. I have done several installs with Audiobahns and they are a great sub, especially for $100!!! They take some power to move, though. I have the 1800W peak 10" with a 700W RMS amp driving it, and it wants MORE!!!!

Good luck

Check out www.caraudiodeals.com thats where I got my stuff from. Very good to deal with
