JL W3V2 and RF 800a2
This is what my future set up, 2 12" JL W3V2 and RF 800a2. Will the 800a2 run stable at 1 ohm? I plan to run them parallel. What do you guys think? Or should I just run them at 4 ohm. How do you think this amp will compare to the JL 500/1? Which one would be best? I'm still thinking about getting the JL but I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to audio shit. Thanks
Dennis

its not stable down to 1ohm. bridge the amp and run the sub at 4ohm (assuming u have dual 4ohm if you're able to wire the sub in parallel to get 1ohm)
as far as JL vs Rockford, doesn't matter really. just choose one and you'll be fine. unless u like the features on the JL more.

With the JL, I can run the amp at 1 ohm and be okay right? I know the amp says it runs 1.5 ohm stable. Should I get a d class amp and run 1 ohm stable?

the amp will run very hot and either shut down or go into protection. i highly recommend not doing so. you'll decrease the life of your amp if u do so (more heat generated and heat is bad for electronics)

seeing that its the older rockford, it should be a tad underrated. the RMS is the thermal rating of the coil (X amount of power applied constantly). its not a recommended power or anything like that.

i dunno why u wish to have 1 ohm config. just wire it on a 2ohm config then power each with their own channel or wire each up 2 or 8 then in parellel then you will get 4 ohm. then bridge amp to get 800. no matter which way you do it they will get 400 each, which is way more then they need.
