I can get the JL 300/2 for about the same price as the RF Power 551X.

There's a pretty big difference in their output potential.

I'm looking for something to power my fronts HARD, while letting my rears get their power from the HU.

Plus, it may save me some coin if I decide to go with the JL 1000/1 to keep the IDMAX happy.

The RF amps are awesome I never had a complain, great SQ it never cut off and my music usually is blasting. I am gonna get my JL amps installed shortly and then I can tell u the differ.

I have not used any of the newer RF stuff but, I know the stuff from a couple of years back had alot of noise problems. Alot of people could not get rid of all the engine noise out of the amp. That is the only complaint I have ever heard from them. The only complate I have heard on the JL's is the price. I love them but, they are a bit pricey.

Yea I get that alot from my friends here to. I think this is my last system for awhile. About the 1000/1 its a no. I was talkin to the guys from JL they said I will only notice a 2-3 db in gain with the 1000/1. Its better if I port that sub.
