I've been bit by the Car Audio bug again...

I used to have a system in my Explorer...went away to college, sold the Explorer and kept the most expenisve parts of the system (amps, sub)...

I wanna do an install in my CL.

Basically it will be a 2 amp set up, 1 12" sub, keep the stock head unit, and replace the stock speakers and run them off of my 2nd amp. I don't need advice on what speakers to get, but I do need installation ideas.

I have equipment in my trunk all the time for work, so my space is limited...enough for 1 12" sub...so where do I mount my amps?? On the back of the seats? Also...what is the easiest way to wire an amp up using the factory speaker wiring and the easiest way to get a wire to the battery and a remote turn-on wire.

I tried a search but got bored with it...if someone could post a link that would be cool too.

basically same set-up as Nicky's, except also using JL components in the rear shelf and sub fires forward into the cabin ... no rattles from the spoiler

Nice installs, but I can't go that big of a box...I need the room...I have a single 12" box and then I need to mount the amps somewhere.

I mounted my Epicenter, 3xs, and amp (on the other side in picture) all on the sides of my speaker box.

Not the most beautiful install, but it works for conserving space.

I believe that mounting amps directly to the sub box will eventually damage the amp due to extreme vibrations. Can you mount amps to the back of the seats?

You can mount the amps where the spare tire is...if you can live without the spare.

Now that's the type of idea i'm looking for. Did you put carpet on the MDF? Anybody know where I could get a few square feet of carpet to match?

I did the same thing, I had tweeter make the board and mount the amps to the back of the trunk. They also built a cutom box for my two 10's and covered everything in matching carpet for $250.00, well worth it.

I think I'll go to Home Deopt and buy some MDF, throw a little carpet on there, and then take it to a shop to have them install it. I just don't feel like taking apart an Acura and worrying about putting it all back together. I figure installing 2 amps can't cost me more than $100.
