interference issue
In my TL-S, I have an audio control 3.1 installed as well as focal's all around, and an infinity amp. stock hu.
I have 2 issues. one is that whenever im on my cell, there is a huge static coming from my speakers.
the other issue i have is some engine whine when the radio is not turned on.
anyone have any thoughts?

your amp is running your interior speakers, correct?
if so, mids/highs amps are extremly sensitive to picking up noise.
check to make sure that the hi/lo convertor is placed before the factory amp and that your ground is not loose and touching all metal.
hope that helps.

If the volume of the static is changing when you rev the engine there are a few easy ways to test the problem. !st pull the deck, and run RCA's around the outside of the car and plug them into the amp. If you still have the same noise, you know that it is not the RCA's.... Now you can do the same with the power wire... Now you know that it's most likely the ground... Pretty easy to test, and even easier to fix....
As far as the Cell phone.... I've been doing this for a long time, and I've never seen that problem.... How close does the phone have to be, and where are your wires ran?

My Nextel always does this. Get lots of static on the old factory and my Alpine.
