Installing MA Audio M1275 subs

I have two MA Audio M1275 performance subs and a 800 watt legacy 2 channel amp. I dont know how to wire the subs, it is a wierd set up. on one side of the sub there is the (+) and (-) terminals each with two male prongs, and the same setup directly on the other. Do i need to conect both (+) and (-) together and then run it to the amp? Or just run one (+) and (-) to the amp? Please post back or email me directly at LuckyAx2@aol.com
thanks

Luckyax2:
Depends on the model. You have a dual voice coil subwoofer. This means...say for instance you had a JL 12w6...dual 3 ohm voice coils. So you have to configurations, parallel and series.

parallel:
-+'s wired together and -'s wired together
-halves the impedance (dual 3 ohm coils -> 1.5 ohms total)

series:
-+ of side 1 wired to the amp, - of side 1 wired to + of side 2, - of side 2 wired to - of amp
-doubles the impedance (dual 3 ohm coils -> 6 ohms total)

So it depends on the impedance you need

are you sure??

austin, are you sure about that second set-up? i think if side 1 - is wired to side 2 + , and the others are connected to the amp, that doubles the impedence...

Your description and Austin's are the same. He was wrong about the impedance though .

Austin:
Are you sure about the equivalent impedance?

Series: Rt = R1 + R2

Parallel: 1/Rt = 1/R1 + 1/R2

So you are wrong, my friend :P

Austin, I think you mean paralell and series -- you still need to make the switch from EE to CE.
