Installing Component tweeter into the stock location

Hey guys. For those of you that have components in your second generation CL, did you use the stock tweeter place? If yes, was it easy to do. If no, where did you install it. If you could provide as much detail as possible I would really appreciate it. Thanks

I just had the MBQuart 6.5 components put in and the tweeters fell right into the stock opening without any problems..

Was it hard to take apart the housing for the tweeter?

IT takes 2 second to replace the tweeter, but you might need to dremel the space a bit just to get it to fit properly.

it probably takes a wee bit longer than two seconds as you have to access the screw that holds the tweeter in its stock location, and that screw is located on the mirror side of the assembly. Other than that, isn't difficult at all. Agree with the dremel bit, so you might have to be a bit careful that you don't open the hole too much or damage the tweeter by trying to force it into place.

Anyone know if these 1" JL Audio tweeters will fit in the stock locations? And how hard would it be for me to change them out myself? I've got a completely new headunit and speakers so no more stock Bose stuff in the car.

Probably not that hard to fit 1" tweets. I fit Focal TN51s in there, but that was quite a pain as they are 1-3/8"...had to dremel most of the housing out.

Those XR100's are the same tweeters that come as part of the XR650-CSi's, which is what I have in mine. Same comment applies as I posted two post's prior to your question.
