MilwaukeeDave your exactly right! Do u have any past experiences with ASWC wiring. Trying to get this wired up currently I'm guessing that it only uses a few wires that attaches to the 2ND GEN TL

I've just done the same setup. 8400 head unit, metro kit & harness, brake bypass (that was tricky, and involved wiring a relay in-line for me to get it to work), and steering wheel control.
I didn't run into any big issues with the dash kit fitting. How is it going on funky?
For me, the only fit issue comes into play when accessing the optical drive/sd slot. That tilting has issues with the trim around the head unit (which is optional, but feels ugly without, imo)

Well lady's and gent's on my way from work today (on my day off, working a half day) my TL suddenly had a few jerks and the RPM ran high and I knew it was upon me at that time! My existing tranny had call the quits on me! 215,XXX miles and it's finally over now on the way on a tow truck to ATL to be rebuilt. And put back on the road. (Sigh) just when my first opportunity to install my new Pioneer deck came about only a half hour away from being able to install it. Now it'll have to wait until late next week! More update to come!

Well ziners got to the car started the work tore out the dash radio console all in less than 20 minutes... Tested the prewired harness it worked all four speaker worked. Steering wheel doohickey did not, still has not! Not really concerned abt that tho! Bypass works like a charm! Here's the issue.......
Sub does not work!
Ran a set of RCA cables from the rear of the radio!
I performed the behind the head unit method, with pin 3 & 10 is there another pin I need to tap into at the Bose eq???????
This process has got me really bummed!
I think this is the first time I simply can't figure out what went wrong!

Alright, it's finally over after brainstorming continuously I figured it out!
I will post pic shortly from my MacBook currently on my phone!
But here's what currently works!
AVH-P8400BH
ASWC steering wheel control
Video bypass for playing DVD's on the go!
All 4 speakers
8" factory Sub
I think I'm gonna take the liberty of rewriting the DIY because it's a bit confusing ( or unclear) if I may say so!

I installed the 8400 this weekend and pieced the dash back together after it was practically destroyed by a thief. The insurance payed me for the audio equipment so I had to start from scratch. I used the BestKits install kit. I'm currently having some fitment issues but most of the dash parts are new so i have to try to put it all back together in a week or so when i get more time. here is the link to the kit i used.

Victus1 aside from pin 3 and pin 10 the only other connection needed to get the sub to work is between the 2 harnesses. On my metra harness it was the power antenna lead and the system remote control lead from the head unit harness. This will get the sub working. Pin 3 & 10 are bass - & + for the sub! Hope this helps... LMK
