Question Indash flip out LCD or Double din LCD?

I'm going to get indash dvd for my 02 TL-S no-navi.
Indash flip out (easy install, screen location is higher than double din)
Double din (looks great, have to get custom face plate or made one by myself, screen location is lower than flip out)
Which one is better? Please help me to decide . Thanks!

i just purchased a dual flip out...and i gotta say, the double din ones that i have seen around this site look so nice, it makes my flip out look like a pos, but its still pretty tight and it sounds like getting a double din takes a lot more work. If you can do the extra work...the double din looks more stock and more natural, which is what im trying to go for on my car, i just dont have money for the custom dash kit

I just got a double din pioneer avic d2.
awsome unit.
paid 1500 for install, steering wheel control, ipod unit, xm navi traffic, and all the other stuff that goes along with it.
the install look clean as hell, and it looks like it came oem with the car.
took about 7hrs for the place to install everything

If you don't get the double din doesn't the screen stick up and cover your climate controls, or something else important, or is that only on the navi models? i guess on non-navi the space above the radio is a little cubby hole or something right?

Either way I agree that double din is the way to go if you can do it.

on my flip up, the screen does cover the climate controls, but usually i just adjust the tilt and reach my finger behind it or put the screen down, either way the double din is better, im just broke and went with the cheaper route

Double din, IMO...I was debating the same thing, I later just forked over the cash for the pioneer z1. I love the thing, especially if you don't have Navi, I especially love the fact that I have so many options, pop a dvd, Hd, cd, sirius or xm...I always always have something good to listen too... It looks OEM...flip out screens don't fit in our 2nd gen acura's, I had one in my 97 jetta and it worked just fine..

yeah as the pic above illustrates.. it doesn't hit. It is pretty close but clears the knob just fine.

You could always refer to the DIY I am working on in the DIY section...cost is minimal, work load isn't terrible, and I feel it is a cleaner look overall once completed. Besides whats a little work to make your car as go as it can possibly look...

that is also true, something you guys should take into consideration... flip out don't look as "nice" but it does have some pros.
