XM Unit (Hip) (Pioneer) - Acura (39820-SJA-A66) new retails for over $3K
Anyone know:
- What HIP stands for in this parts description?
- Why this part seems to be impossible to find used?
- Can this module be unplugged and the cars radio, heater controls, nav still work
- Can this part be repaired?
- If repair possible, please provide a recommendation?

for others who might have a similar issue.
i too had my audio cutting in/out.
i thought loose wiring for sure.. I check all connections behind Headunit, speakers, amps etc
I was wrong
I found that my DVD unit in trunk had lost (2) of the screws holding it in place.
possibly years of subs pounding, pot holes in the road, bad rear endlinks etc.
I put them back in(lucky for me... they were next to the unit still)
all symptoms cured
