i saw how to build fiberglass enclosures diy a few questions...

i know you how you put a drop cloth in the trunk and tape off what you want the back of the box to be. i understand doing the back side of the box. but what do you do with the front? i have seen the fleece trick but is that the best way? also does 2 opposing 12s sound alright? or should i just do one 12. i plan on putting them on the sides of the trunk opposote where the jack is in an 02 tl. thanks...

There's a lot of ways to do it. I'm not sure what the fleece trick means.

As far as one 12 or two, that's a loaded question.

Fleece trick? Not exactly sure what you're talking about, but I have an idea. Explain a little more about it please.

Also, opposing 12's? Do you mean having one on one side and the other on the other side firing at each other? I thinkit would always be louder with 2, but 1 should be enough.

well i heard that you u make the back of the enclosure. than take that out and find out where you want the sub mounted. than you take a peice of fleece and strech it over the opening. then you put resin on that and apply the fiberglass over that. idk if thats correct or not or if it will work. one shop hinted to me about that.

Many fabrics will do the "trick".

Eld, didnt you use trunk carpet for that TSX enclosure you built. I kinda liked that idea.

The trunk carpet makes it heavier, and takes a lot more resin, but it also takes a LOT of grinding and sanding before carpeting in order to handle the folds on the edges. In short, it makes a hell of a mess, and a lot of fiberglass dust. If you use finer material such as grille cloth you don't have as much messy work to do to make the join smooth, just an extra aleyer or two inside afterwards.

We had to buy an fine-dust air filter for the small shop we have to make this more tolerable. (p.s., Jet APS500 for $169 kicks ass).
