Homelink & Condos

Anybody had success in programming Homelink with apartment or condo garage door signals?

I live in a condo with a keyfob-activated garage door opener, but I can't get the Homelink to recognize the signal. The Homelink light just keeps slowly blinking while in programming mode. I don't think it's a rolling code since there are hundreds of keyfobs in use. Is there a difference between building and house signalling?

You should contact Homelink, and also your condo association to find out what brand of a signal receiver / gate opener you have.

I have a garage / gate combo also, and I was able to program both of them into the Homelink. It does take a long time to recognize, but within the 20 seconds alotted.

I live in an apartment and was able to program my garage just fine, it was a rolling code, there is a button on the back of the garage door opener that allows it to "learn" the homelink button's signal. I would imagine that if your complex is relatively new that they would be a rolling code.

Have you cleared the Homelink system first?

Mine wouldn't program until I did that....

Can't hurt to try.

Thanks all for the feedback. I have tried resetting the Homelink already. The building is barely 1 year old, but there's no learning button on the fob. I'll check with property management about the type of opener that's installed. There are a couple of other tsx in the lot, I'll leave a note on their windshield to see if they have had any luck.

My Homelink would not program with the key fob opener. I had to use the full size opener (visor size) for it to program correctly. I found this out after calling the opener manufacturer.
