Help me adjust Gain and Bass Eq.
I have the Alpine MRPM350 - Alpine 1 Ch 350 Watt Amplifier with an Infinity Kappa Perfect 10 VQc 10" sub.
here are links to both the products:
http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?...&Product_ID=66
http://www.cardomain.com/item/INFPERFECT10VQC
And right now I have the gain and bass equalizer 3/4 of the way. Is this a good setting or not? Am I gonna blow the sub with this amount of power? It sure sound good right now.
Please look up the specs of both components and let me know how to set these gain and bass eq. settings accordingly so that it sounds good and I would damage my sub or amp.

^may prolly help you
Theres two ways to do it; by ear, or by math.
the links provided shows you both.
if you got your system installed professionally just bring it to them and have them do it for you.
thats what i did :\. i did read the caraudio forum and i remember reading if ur doing it by ear
turn ur volume up to about 75%, and tune your gain knob until it's at a good SQ level, you definately dont want to turn your gain knob 100%

You did'nt say if u have an aftermarket or factory head unit.
Maybe I can help!
1. download some pink noise. http://www.mobileaudiocontrol.com/wh...ail.asp?id=845
2. Copy it to a disc.
3. turn your amp all the way down and set x-over to full and turn off all if any enhancers.
4. Turn down headunit and zero/turn off all headunit enhancers.
5. play headunit until distortion is heard.
Good way to do that is to play past the distortion then dial back. After that is set move to amp.
6. turn up amp untill distortion is heard.
(Follow same proceedure as headunit.

ps.
Tuning is hard to do by ear but, it will get you close.
After tuning if you hear distortion while on the road. I would turn down the amp 1 millimeter at a time.

It's late and i'm tired.
For your amp you need a 50hz or 100hz tone.
If the tone given earlier is to high. Just GOOGLE
"100hz or 50hz pink noise".

I know this seems silly. I really messed up my answer.
(downlad test tones. Not pink noise).
Pink noise is for balance/fade control. Not gain setting.
(Either 50hz or 100hz). More then likely 100hz. Peace
