Help with installation of Bose 6 CD Changer
Take a look here for an idea of what I have. This is not my unit but an example unit it has the climate control setup attached to the top of it. This is standard in navi based TL's, but non-navi TL's came with either a notepad holder (2002-2003) or a cd holder(1999-2001).
I have the cd holder variety as standard equipment in my car. Some have said that the notepad holder was smaller than the cd holder it replaced to allow for the larger cd changer HU to fit. The units appear to be the same size from a frontal view, so I am assuming that this increase in size is in the metal casing. I hope this gives you a better idea of what I am working with.
As for what I purchased, refer to the picture again. I have only the 2003 head unit no climate controls, cd holder, or notepad holder was attached. It is the HU only.
My question is: Can I install this in my car as is or do I have to find the note tray thingy before proceeding?
Members: sorry for being long winded.
MODS: Sorry for not posting in the right forum, but I really needed an answer soon. After searching and reading through numerous posts I was not able to find a clear answer. There are several threads that go either way.
