Ford Expedition issue

I have a question that maybe someone can answer here. My friend has a 2004 Expedition with the Ford navagation system. A few days ago the stereo started only playing through the subwoofer and non of the door speakers work. If you go to adjust the fade it doesn't affect anything. What could be wrong? Thanks
