Finally got my sirius installed
Finally decided to get Sirius radio because I drive 20k miles a year. Was trying to find the right player and finally Sirius came out with this, Sirius Starmate Replay. Was going to fit it into the "not an ashtray" bin, but was too hard to cut. So I decided to go with us. Installed Blitzsafe aux input.

Since you install stereo equipment, of course that would be a sloppy job. I did that at home and where could I get a piece of ABS plastic? That's the smallest sirius player you can get, that actually looks nice. I was thinking about the starbase but it's ugly and doesn't have the replay and memory feature. There's an adapter out that works with the navi.

I'm thinking about redoing it, using wood instead and use the clip holder it came with, the player gets too hot with the foam around it.

That's a great looking install I am thinking of getting the exact saem setup.
I want to use the radio in my home as well, is your setup able to snap in and out to use with the home kit?
Thanks

that can't snap in, but I'm thinking about redoing it once it gets warm out because the radio gets really hot on long drives and the foam doesn't like it. I'm going to build a small frame out of wood and use the housing clip it came. That snaps in and out. If you have high speed at home you can listen to sirius online.

I used the same space, but used the P.I.E. X3 and a different Sirius unit. It is the Xact plug and play. Circuit City sell it for $39.99. It is smaller, comes with a remote and the mounting base works perfectly in the storage bin. It's not custom fit with plastic, but who cares. It can be removed in two seconds and when your not using it, you close the door of the compartment. By using the X3 I have 2 additional sets of RCA's to plug in an i-pod and whatever else, plus retain the factory XM or CD changer. I ran the extra RCA's to the center console storage and went to radio shack and got a stereo video wall plate. I unscrewed the red and blacks off of 2 wall plates, drilled 4 small holes in the bottom front of the compartment and then screwed them in. The Patch cords plug in underneath and it looks real custom. now when you look in the storage bin, you see two sets of male plugs. You can plug in anything you want.
