Factory Options
hey guys i want to upgrade my factory bose system in my cl and want good bass response without putting a sub in the trunk. is it possible?
what are the factory speakers rated at?
what kind of speakers are some of you guys using for upgrades?
will i have to disconnect factory amp?
when its all said and done, will i be thinking i should have just put a sub in there?

All depends on what you mean by "good".
I think your car has 6x9 woofers in the R deck (?). Some TSX owners have been using the woofers from the MB Quart RCE 269 kit with good results. Not 12" in the trunk results, but good.
If you go that route I would use a 50-75x4 amp (I use the JL 300/4, 75x4). I run the xover on and run the R 6x9s as straight woofers, 75 Hz and down. Haven't heard yet of anyone doing this in that car... yet...

Hmmm, I think the factory sub is about as good as it's gonna get without an external subwoofer. The factory sub is actually pretty strong--if you could replace the whole rear deck with something that didn't vibrate it would sound pretty damn good for a free-air sub.
If you're looking for boom, I think you're going to need a new sub.
If you're looking to clean up the bass that comes from the oem sub, I'd brace the rear deck and then cover it with Dynamat or something.
I used to have a sticky that would answer most of your other CL/TL questions--but the moderators have apparently removed it. The link is:
