TSX: External HDD Question

External HDD Question
I was hoping someone here could help me out. I just got a 2010 TSX w/o tech last week, and the Acura website said that the USB would play an external HDD. I have a 500 GB portable Western Digital drive that I formatted to FAT32. I copied over my music folder (approximately 80-85 gb) but when I plugged it into the car this morning, the screen read No Songs. My iPod has worked fine in there with some of the same audio files, so I was just wondering if anyone would know what the issue is.
I have my music seperated into many different folders in a heirarchy, and I was wondering if that was the issue. Also, I was also thinking that the drive might be too big, but according to the manual, it can handle a drive that contains over 65k files.
I did let the drive sit for around 30 seconds and nothing changed (still said No Songs), but now I have myself wondering if it would have worked if I waited longer because I've read that it can take a while to load.
If anyone has any input, I would greatly appreciate it.

I may be wrong, but I think it can only read 2 GB FAT partitions
You could also try NTFS

It was originally formatted as NTFS, and the car said that it was an incompatible drive. Now that I formatted it to FAT32, the drive turns on and it recognizes it, but it just says that it contains no songs. I've read on some message boards about partitioning the drive, but I would hate to have a 500 gb drive with 2 gb partitions. I've read where people were able to use 16 and even 32 gb flash drives.
I was just wondering if anyone used an external hard drive in the USB slot and if there was anything special they had to do to get it to work. On Acura's site for the 2010 TSX it says this: "The USB connection can play a music flash drive or any self-powered USB hard drive. The audio system controls all audio functions. "
When I see "any" self-powered hard drive, it leads me to believe that it should work.
Thanks for your input 97
