Dynamat question

Would putting Dynamat Extreem on all 4 doors of a '08 TSX help with road noise or is it a total waste of money? All I have done with the sound sytem is replace the speakers with some Boston Acoustics coaxials.

Dynamat technically isn't sound deadening material. It is a vibration deadener that works by lowering the resonant frequency of your body panels If you're in the middle of an audio install I would definitely recommend putting some behind and/or around the speakers themselves. However, paying to have it done, taking off the doors just to do it, or doing the entire door on all four isn't worth it

There are lots of products out there that are made specifically for reducing road noise. I believe Dynamat actually makes something called DynaLiner that is for that. There are also many cheaper options that work just as well if not better. The only thing I really prefer about dynamat is their adhesive, it's great.

Yes, I do have it behind each speaker. I am going to pass on this installation - thanks for your opinion. To be honest I had it done on my '04 TSX and I really did not notice any difference.

Probably a good call. The money can definitely be spent better elsewhere.

What if it were laid down in the trunk, would that reduce noise from the exhaust? I don't have a TSX but my exhaust has resonance at freeway speeds. I have a hatchback so any sound coming from the trunk would easily be heard from anywhere else inside the car. I would get Dynaliner but my employee discount only applies to Dynamat/Xtreme because that's what we carry in store.

Anyone with the OEM trunk tray notice a difference before/after?
