I am partial to Eclipse. I have an AV-8022 in my TL and love it. It is an all in one that plays, cd, mp3, dvd. I like having everything at one spot. Easy to change from DVD to MP3 to CD. Just pop in whatever you want.
I have an Alpine IVA-C800 and DVA-5200 in another vehicle. The DVA-5200 is mounted right below the IVA-C800 so, it is kinda all in one. However, I have a CHA-624 as well so, I have 3 different sources that will all play CD and the DVA-5200 will play DVD. The only problem I have is the DVA-5200 does not play the DVD from whereever it left off, after you turn off the engine. My Eclipse
does.
The options are endless. You could get a good indash screen only and hook a PS/2 up to it. I did that with an Eclipse 7002. There are lots of good overheads as well. I have not ever used one so, I will let someone who has comment on those.
For an indash all in one, I would stick with Clarion, Panasonic, Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine and Eclipse. There are a few others that are not so well known, Rosen, Myron and Davis and others. I would stay away from the cheap brands. You do indeed get what you pay for.
A good indash all in one unit will run you probably $1,000 minimum. That is the route I prefer.
