Dual subwoofer install on rear deck - a few pictures

Well, I decided that I definitely wanted to mount my subs on the rear deck. I had a few reasons for doing this: SQ, no trunk rattle, no woofer cones to damage w/ cargo...plus for having something different. I'm a couple days into it and thought I'd post some pictures of what I've got so far.

For those that didn't see my first thread, I planned on cutting out a chunk of the rear deck and sandwiching it with MDF. A sealed enclosure sits against the bottom of the deck (air-tight, no sound pressure in the trunk itself). The box weight won't hang from the deck; the enclosure will be standing on the trunk floor. I installed a wing w/ a brake light to replace the light that was on the deck.

The pictures below show the primered cutout and the new MDF deck (its 1.75" thick). I'll be modifying the trim panels to make a large oval grille in the middle. BTW - the torsion bars are just temporarily installed right now...those will come back out when I install a pair of gas springs on the trunk lid.

Let me know what you guys think. I'll post more pictures as it comes along.
